Terms of Service
These Terms explain the rules for using Logam, a browser-based travel expense tracker.
Effective date: August 31, 2026. Last updated: August 31, 2026.
1. Who operates Logam
Logam is operated by an individual sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Logam is not operated by a limited company. Contact us at david@logamjournal.com.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, signing in, or using Logam, you agree to these Terms. If you use Logam for another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for them.
3. Eligibility and minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to use Logam. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, use Logam with a parent or guardian's permission where required.
4. The Logam service
Logam is a responsive, browser-based tool for recording, organizing, and reviewing travel expenses, including trips, currencies, companions, splits, budgets, and summaries.
Logam currently has no paid subscriptions or live payment features. We may add optional monthly or annual subscriptions in the future. We will show pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and applicable consumer rights before you subscribe, and you will not owe a subscription fee unless you affirmatively choose a paid plan and complete payment.
5. Accounts and security
You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your account and devices reasonably secure, and all activity carried out through your account. Do not share your account or use another person's account without permission. Report unauthorized access to david@logamjournal.com.
6. Acceptable and prohibited use
You must not break the law, commit fraud, impersonate anyone, upload harmful code or infringing content, disrupt or gain unauthorized access to Logam, scrape or resell the service, reverse engineer it except where law permits, or store information you do not have the right or lawful basis to use.
7. Your content and data
You retain ownership of expense descriptions, amounts, receipts, trip information, notes, and other content you enter. You give us a limited license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, format, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide Logam. We do not claim ownership of it.
8. Third-party data
If you enter details about travel companions or other people, make sure you have the right to provide that information and have given any notice required by applicable law. Only enter relevant information and avoid sensitive information unless permitted and necessary.
9. Our intellectual property
Logam's name, logo, branding, software, interface, visual design, and original content are owned by or licensed to us. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Logam while you comply with these Terms.
10. Currency and travel calculations
Currency conversions, exchange rates, totals, splits, budgets, rounding, and other calculations are for informational and organizational purposes only. Rates may be delayed, unavailable, or different from those used by your bank or exchange provider. Verify important amounts before using them for payments, taxes, accounting, reimbursements, immigration, or other official purposes. Logam does not provide professional advice.
11. Third-party services and links
Logam may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, analytics, currency information, and infrastructure. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Links to third-party websites do not imply endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content, security, availability, or practices.
12. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep Logam available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, improve, replace, or discontinue features. When reasonably practical, we will provide notice of significant changes. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer protection rights.
13. Account closure and termination
You may stop using Logam or request account deletion at any time. After closure, your content will no longer be available through your account. Deletion may take a reasonable period, and limited copies may remain in backups or records for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate operational purposes.
We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to protect Logam, its users, or third parties, comply with law, address security concerns, or respond to a serious or repeated breach. Where appropriate and practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
14. Warranties and limitation of liability
We provide Logam with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including statutory consumer rights, death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to those protections and to the extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss. Where a financial limit is permitted, our total liability relating to Logam will not exceed the greater of £50 or the amount you paid us for Logam in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that consumers may also have the right to bring a claim under the mandatory laws of, or in the courts of, the country where they live.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as Logam changes or legal requirements develop. We will update the last updated date and take reasonable steps to bring material changes to your attention. Questions can be sent to david@logamjournal.com.
